Photography is a wonderful art form. It combines the eye for light and composition with the technical application of camera and flash. It gets you out into the world interacting with people and nature and truly changes the way you look at your surroundings.

Taking on clients to document their special event or capture their family in the moment is very rewarding “work”. We feel privileged to be pulled in a maze of directions while all the time doing things we truly enjoy.

When our first child was just a baby, my wife, Jen, and I were able to put her needs first, respond to our clients’ requests, fulfill the obligations of our day jobs, and not feel that we were compromising any of it with our shared interest in photography. The arrival of our second child however, more than doubled our workload. It took me four days to respond to my dad’s request for a handful of pictures for this site (thanks dad for the awesome new web site) – and I had already captured the images!

It is abundantly clear that taking on new projects at this time would leave us feeling like something else was falling off the back of the truck. There will come a time when both Jen and I look forward to the excitement and intrigue of working with new clients. For the time being however, we’re kid focused. Once help with homework becomes too difficult, it would be a relief to be able to say “I’m editing client photos sweetie; why don’t you Skype your Gramps and ask him for help?”

So…thanks for visiting our site – and please keep checking in. Homework might get harder than photography sooner than we think.
